The vulnerability could allow information disclosure if a user visits a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. This security update addresses the vulnerability by changing the MHTML protocol handler in Windows so that it securely handles MHTML URLs in redirection scenarios. Keep reading →

When you wake a Windows Vista-based computer from sleep or when you restart the computer, you may receive a message that resembles the following:
Windows Mail can compact the message store. This may take up to a few minutes.
If you click Cancel, the message reappears the next time that you wake the computer or the next time that you restart the computer. This message occurs even though you are not using Windows Mail as the default mail program.
Note: This is the expected behavior when you are running Windows Mail.
