You may be unable to install a program that tries to register extensions under the IQueryForm registry entry in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista. Or, the installation may be completed, and the program may not work as expected.

Note: A program that will use the IQueryForm interface must register extensions under the following registry subkey:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{8A23E65E-31C2-11d0-891C-00A024AB2DBB}\Forms

For more information, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms677262(VS.85).aspx
For example, assume that a program tries to register its Class ID for Active Directory Users and Computers search extension. In this case, you receive an “Access Denied” error in the program log.

Note: The exact error message that is reported by the program log varies depending on the specific program.

A Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Active Template Library (ATL) Server project contains performance counters. This project is configured to register an Internet Server API (ISAPI) DLL on a Windows Vista-based computer. However, the ISAPI DLL is not registered when you run the ATL Server application. Additionally, when you try to register the ISAPI DLL manually, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

0×80070002 COR_E_FILENOTFOUND
