Assume that an application uses Image Mastering API version 2.0 (IMAPI v2) to burn some data onto a recordable DVD or CD on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. However, a 0xC0AA0007 error is returned.

This problem typically occurs with backup applications that use IMAPI v2. For example, this problem occurs when you try to create a system repair disc by using the Backup and Restore tool in the operating system. The job fails and you receive the following error message:

In Windows Media Center in Windows Vista, you manually start a recording. When you look under Recorded TV for the recording that you started, Media Center does not indicate that the recording is in progress.

Even though Recorded TV does not indicate that the recording is in progress, the manual recording is successful.

Consider the following scenario. On a Windows Vista-based computer, you right-click certain files that are saved on a disc. Then, you try to access a DVD-VR format DVD that was created by using a consumer electronics DVD recorder.

In this scenario, you cannot view the pop-up menu. Also, when you try to copy these files from the disc to the hard disk, you receive an error message that resembles the following error message:

An unexpected error is preventing the operation. Make a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help to resolve this problem:

Error 0x80070570: The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Therefore, you cannot read these files.

The update sequence number (USN) journal record contains an incorrect file name when you move a file in Windows Vista, in Microsoft Windows Server 2003, or in Microsoft Windows XP.

This problem occurs if a hard link points to the file that you moved. In this situation, the USN journal record contains the name of the hard link instead of the moved file. Therefore, applications that rely on the USN journal may not work correctly.
