After you download Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 or Adobe Premiere Elements 4 on Windows Vista, the installer does not start and you can’t find the downloaded file in the folder to which you downloaded it. The Launch button in the Akamai Download Manager window does not do anything.

When you use the Adobe Photo Downloader, Adobe Bridge Photo Downloader, or the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom import function in Windows Vista to download RAW files from your Canon camera, the download or import functions do not recognize your RAW files. If you use RAW+JPEG, then only the JPEG files are downloaded.

Consider the following scenario:

  • A digital camera uses the Adobe RGB color space to capture a photograph as a .jpg image file.
  • You transfer the .jpg file to a computer that is running Windows Vista.
  • In Windows Explorer, you modify the file’s metadata. For example, you change the star rating of the file.

In this scenario, when you use Adobe Photoshop to try to open the file, you receive the following error message:

The embedded ICC profile cannot be used because the ICC profile description is invalid. Ignoring the profile.

If you click Continue, the file opens without using the profile.

When you select “Switch primary and secondary buttons” in the Mouse control panel on Windows Vista, the image window in Adobe Photoshop CS3 freezes in place. The image window does not move when you attempt to click and drag it, or it moves intermittently before becoming frozen in place. This occurs when Photoshop CS3 is in Standard Screen Mode. Maximized Screen Mode and Full Screen Mode are not affected.
