When you use the Group Policy Management Console to configure a Group Policy object for wireless access, you experience the following symptom.
When you click Microsoft: Protected EAP (PEAP) in the Select a network authentication method list, and then click Properties, the Select Authentication Method list appears in the Protected EAP Properties dialog box as expected. However, Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) is the only item that is displayed in this list. When you click the drop-down arrow to expand the list, no other authentication methods are displayed. Therefore, you cannot select an alternative authentication method.
You experience this issue when you use the Group Policy Management Console in Windows Server 2008 or in Windows Vista.
Note: For more information about how to view the Select Authentication Method list, see the “More Information” section.

When you try to connect to a Web folder by using a network basic input/output system (NetBIOS) name on a computer that is running Windows Vista, you are prompted for the user name and the password.
This issue occurs even though the “Automatic logon with current user name and password” security option is set for the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the Web folder in the “Trusted Sites” zone and in the “Local intranet” zone.
For example, this issue occurs when you use one of the following NetBIOS names to connect to the Web folder:
Note You do not experience this issue in Microsoft Windows XP.

Consider the following scenario. On a domain controller, you configure some password policy settings. For example, you configure the Minimum password age password policy or the Password must meet complexity requirements password policy. However, when a domain user tries to change the password of a Windows Vista-based client computer in the domain, the user may receive the following error message:
Status: C000006C/C000006C
This error message contains only the status code. Therefore, the user does not know the meaning of the error message.
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- The user does not meet some password policy requirements when the user changes the password.
- The client computer is running the German version of Windows Vista.
