KB935994

You point to a taskbar button in Windows Vista. If the content of the window is a video that is running in Windows Media Center, the thumbnail does not show the actual running video. Instead, the thumbnail may only show a static image that is a “snapshot” of the video that was playing when the window was minimized.

In some cases, the thumbnail may be black. Or the thumbnail may be white with a small green icon in its center. Similar behavior occurs when you use Windows Flip 3D view.

For example, you may experience the following behavior with thumbnails for video that is playing in Windows Media Center:

  • When you play a video in full-screen mode, and then minimize the Windows Media Center window, the thumbnail view may be black. Or the thumbnail may be white with a small green icon in its center.
  • When you play a video in full-screen mode, and then minimize the Windows Media Center window, the Flip 3D view may be black. Or the thumbnail may be white with a small green icon in its center.
  • When you play a video in windowed mode, and then minimize the Windows Media Center window, the thumbnail view is a static image of the video.
  • When you play a video in windowed mode, and then minimize the Windows Media Center window, the Flip 3D view is a static image of the video.

This problem occurs even though the system supports and is using Windows Aero.

You use the On-Screen Keyboard in Windows Vista, and you click the Windows logo key and then the TAB key to start Windows Flip 3D. However, Windows Flip 3D does not start.
