A fax application or the Windows Fax and Scan application may randomly crash when you try to send or receive fax documents on a Windows Server 2008-based or Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based computer.
When this problem occurs, you may find an event in the Application event log that resembles the following event:
Faulting application WFS.exe or [application name], version [version number], time stamp [time stamp], faulting module WFS.exe or [application name], version [version number], time stamp [time stamp], exception code 0xc0000094, fault offset [offset], process id [process ID], application start time [start time].
