Consider the following scenario:
- You have a computer that runs Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
- The computer has multiple SATA ports, and the disk controller is configured in the BIOS to operate in IDE mode.
- You have a hard disk attached to a SATA port that is exposed as the device 1 (secondary) port.
- There is no hard disk attached to the device 0 (primary) port of the same channel as the hard drive.
In this scenario, you may experience a delay of several seconds when the computer resumes from sleep. This behavior causes the computer to fail Windows Logo Program requirements for standby resume times.

You have a Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer that is a member of a domain. When you disconnect from the network, you may experience a delay of 12 to 14 seconds before you can access the network again.
Notes:
- This issue usually occurs when the computer switches between a network that deploys Network Access Protection (NAP) enforcement and another network.
- This issue does not occur on a computer that is running the release version of Windows Vista or on a computer that is not a domain member.

On a Windows Vista-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer, you try to access a network share by typing the path of the share in the Run box. However, it may take more than 10 seconds for the network share to open in Windows Explorer.
For example, in the Run box, you type the universal naming convention (UNC) path of the share, such as \\ServerName\ShareName. When you do this, it takes the Windows Explorer more than 10 seconds to open the share.
This issue occurs if the firewall of the server on which the share resides blocks traffic on port 80.
