On a Windows Vista-based computer, files in an offline folder are randomly corrupted.

For example, assume that the offline folder contains an Internet shortcut (URL file). In this case, some files in the folder are empty, and you cannot use the Internet shortcut to open the URL.

Consider the following scenario:

• On a Windows Vista-based computer, you download some files from a network share to an offline folder.
• During this process, some network problems occur, such as a loss of the wireless connection or network congestion.

In this scenario, the files that you download are corrupted.

The corrupted files have the same file size and the same metadata as the original files on the network share. However, when you perform a binary compare, you find the files do not match the original files.

Consider the following scenario:

• You are running a Windows Vista-based computer.
• In a Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)-based application, you use the GetDC(NULL) function together with an exclusive-OR (XOR) raster operation to draw on the screen.

In this scenario, the display may become corrupted. For example, some artifacts may remain on the screen longer than expected.
