“0x0000009F” or “0x000000A0″ Stop errors on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 when a USB webcam is set as the default audio device

Consider the following scenario:

  • You configure a USB webcam as the default audio device on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008.
  • An application that uses the USB webcam is running on the computer.
  • The computer enters and then resumes from sleep several times.

In this scenario, you may receive one of the following Stop error messages:

0x000000A0
INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR

0x0000009F
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
