Error message when you try to connect to a virtual private network (VPN) server on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008: “STOP 0x0000007F”

You try to connect to a virtual private network (VPN) server that is using Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) on a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008. You receive a Stop error message on a blue screen and the computer crashes. The Stop error message resembles the following:

STOP 0x0000007F (00000008, [Paremeter2], [Paremeter3], [Paremeter4])
