Multi-frame JPEG Support for imaging applications using the Windows Imaging Component (WIC)
A new image format is available that is similar to traditional JPEG images, but supports multiple frames inside the JPEG. Imaging applications that utilize the Windows Imaging Component (WIC) are not capable of utilizing these types of images.
Symptoms of working with images created in this new multi-frame JPEG format in an application utilizing the current version of WIC are as follow:
- Only the first image in the set is viewable
- Opening, editing and saving the file will result in the loss of all additional image frames
Note: This issue only affects multi-frame JPEGS. TIFF and GIF images are not affected.
