Wake-on-LAN functionality does not work on Windows Vista-based computers that use Broadcom network adapters and that have the _OSC method enabled

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that uses a Broadcom network adapter.
  • You enable the Wake-on-LAN (WOL) functionality on this computer.
  • The computer has the Operating System Capabilities (_OSC) method enabled to configure power management.

In this scenario, the computer does not resume from hibernation (S4) or from standby (S3).
