The customized properties for an .msi package installation are reset to their default values after you install Windows Installer 4.5
Consider the following scenario:
- You install Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 on a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
- Windows XP
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008
- On this computer, you have an .msi package that schedules a forced restart and some suspended installation actions. The suspended installation actions will be executed after the forced restart.
- You customize some properties for the installation before the forced restart. These changed properties will be used by the suspended installation actions.
In this scenario, the customized properties are reset to their default values after the forced restart. Therefore, the suspended installation actions work incorrectly.
