Stop error message when you plug a USB storage device into the USB port of a Windows Vista SP1-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer: “Stop 0×0000007E SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED”
When you plug a universal serial bus (USB) storage device into the USB port of a Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008-based computer, the operating system may crash. Additionally, you may receive the following Stop error message:
Stop 0×0000007E (Parameter1, Parameter2, Parameter3, Parameter4)
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
Notes:
- The parameters in the Stop error message vary.
- Not all “0×0000007E” Stop error messages are caused by this problem.
