Using the legacy DTS Designer that ships as part of the SQL Server 2005 Feature Pack may fail on Windows Vista and Windows 2008 operating systems. You may receive an error similar to the following:
Microsoft Visual Studio:
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
You may see a blank DTS Designer window after the error is shown.
