You receive an error when you use the Add a Network Location Wizard to connect to a WebDAV site that uses certificate-based authentication on a Windows Vista-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer

On a Windows Vista-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer, you use the Add a Network Location Wizard to connect to a Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV) site that uses certificate-based authentication. You type the address of the site by using a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) or the WebDAV folder name. For example, you use one of the following formats:

  • https://WebDAVServer/ShareFolder

However, after you do this, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:

folder name is invalid

This operation succeeds only when you use the following format to type the address of the site:

https://WebDAVServer

Note: This problem does not occur in earlier Windows operating systems, such as Windows XP.
