The print process does not work correctly, and you may receive an error message when you print multiple copies of a multipage document in Windows Vista or in Windows Server 2008
Consider the following scenario:
- On a computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008, you use a printer that uses Printer Control Language (PCL) version 6 to print multiple copies of a multipage document.
- You click to select the Collate check box in a print application in Microsoft Office Excel 2003 or in Microsoft Office Excel 2007.
In this scenario, the print process does not work correctly. Additionally, you may receive the following error message after you print the first copy of the document:
PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNAL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: Endchar
Position: Number
Note: This issue also occurs when you print a multipage Word 2003 or Word 2007 document after you click to clear the Enable advanced printing features check box for the printer.
