This is FUD. Same as when the DOT announced their ‘ban’. It isn’t a ‘ban’, it’s a notice to “wait until we’re ready”. They clearly say that it can be purchased on new computers. I would advise caution on upgrading existing computers just as they have.

Microsoft calculates, based on WGA data, that Vista is pirated half as much as XP is/was, and credits this reduction to the improved anti-piracy measures in Vista.

Vista pirated less than half!
May be good for M.S. but not for me.
Waited so long for my upgrade to arrive
for home premium(Vista capable computer),I finally gave up tracking it,bit the bullet and bought a copy.As happens frequently, what arrives 2days
after my install@-you guessed correctly.Now,dilemma.2programs,one computer.Required a reinstall shortly after. The tech chose the new one.Just following MS rules. This phobia that was even more pronounced in the beginningOn this side of the fence, feel it is a stupid MS decision. Not all users are out to get the big guy.Majority of users are not thieves..My second disk
makes a fair ?bookend(for sm. Books.)Happy ending, love using Vista;had no major problems.Only neg.Is it cost more for the upgrade yhan preinstalled and it is still an upgrade.PS-do resent MS issuing a seniors friendly computer..CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT!!dON’T BE SO INSULTING m.s.
