This video shows how you can ‘crash’ Vista using a two key combination. By holding down the ‘Windows’ key and the ‘E’ key, you begin opening Explorer windows. If you open enough of them, it bogs down Vista and makes it unresponsive.

Okay… so you use a hotkey combination to open a whole bunch of instances of a program, and you eventually burn up all of your system resources. So what? You could do the same thing by opening up dozens of instances of anything else.
It’s sort of like “You are an idiot,” my favorite Flash animation of all time. After bouncing around your screen for a while, it would show a box that says “You are an idiot.” If you clicked the OK button, it would continue to spawn itself, eventually forcing the user to shut down the computer. Unfortunately, in the era of popup blockers, it doesn’t work any more.

Also: If you drill a nickel-sized hole in the bottom of your car’s gas tank, the car will stop moving within a minute! Amazing!
If you poke a hole in a balloon, eventually the gas trapped inside will flow out of the balloon, leaving nothing but an empty rubber bladder! Astounding!

Mr.Bob, it’s not normal, that something like that can kill your OS. try to hold win + e for 10 sec in xp. you know what it does for me? it opens bunch of windowses, in the end pops up error that all memory is used and that’s it..i could close them all and work further. so, before you whine, think a little

[...] In the meantime I have grown extremely weary with my Vista installation. 2.1 overall stinks. It appears that my Centrino mobile processor is the choking point. I have a respectable mobile laptop. Granted its not new, but it has a gig of memory and 128mbs of dedicated mem. I want the Aero.. I dont want to run without it. I can run it, but I get sick of waiting. Not to mention other issues. [...]

I use a HP Compaq 6710s with Windows Vista Home Basic…I try holding that combination of keys for 30 seconds…a lot of winowses were open but after that I could access Task Manager and it was enough to press once endtask and al the windowses disappear. The system was ok…no need to restart…

Mr. Alkodioals — who’s whining? Vista runs fine for me in everyday use. I have no complaints. Why don’t you click on that link in my original post? It seems very appropriate for you.

Don’t you like vista? I could easily do that with XP as well.
