After you use the AVIStreamWrite function to create an AVI file in Windows Vista, you cannot play the AVI file
You use the AVIStreamWrite function to create an AVI file in an application that is running in Windows Vista. However, you cannot play the AVI file, or the video that is generated by the AVI file is black.
There is a download that resolves this issue. See Hotfixes for details.
