The July 2007 Bulletin Release Advance Notification has details on next Tuesday’s security updates. This time around, Vista will be affected by two security updates, one for the OS itself, and another for it’s .NET component, and possibly one other non-security update.
Listed as a Moderate threat, the update for Windows Vista is described as an ‘Information Disclosure’ issue. The .NET update is listed as Critical due to it’s ‘Remote Code Execution’ threat. There could also be a high-priority non-security update, as one is due through Windows Update, though further details are not available, so it’s unknown if Vista if affected.
In addition, two security updates are due for Microsoft Office users, and four high-priority non-security updates for non-disclosed non-OS Microsoft components. This could mean that some Vista users will receive as many as nine updates if they are running the right combination of software packages.
