Error message when you start a Windows Vista-based computer: “STOP: 0×00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA”
When you start a Windows Vista-based computer, you may receive a “Stop 0×50″ error message that resembles the following:
*** STOP: 0×00000050 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
This problem typically occurs in very early in the startup process. For example, the problem may occur shortly after the splash screen appears, and you see a black screen with a moving progress bar. Specifically, this problem typically occurs when the system tries to load the i8042prt.sys driver. The problem only occurs in certain hardware configurations.
