An RTF document may be corrupted when it is opened in WordPad on a Windows Vista-based computer
When you use WordPad to open a Rich Text Format (RTF) document on a Windows Vista-based computer, the document may be corrupted. Specifically, the text may be damaged or missing. This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You use a right-click operation to create the document. For example, you right-click the desktop or any folder, you click New, and then you click Rich Text Document.
- You are using any one of the following language versions of Windows Vista:
- Bulgarian
- Chinese
- Czech
- Estonian
- Hindi
- Hungarian
- Latvian
- Lithuanian
- Polish
- Romanian
- Russian
- Serbian Latin
- Slovak
- Slovenian
- Thai
- Turkish
- Ukrainian
- Uzbek Cyrillic
- Uzbek Latin
