Custom Theme Support has been destroyed by Microsoft Update 933928. Uninstalling this update and rebooting did not restore MaxClearV3 setup. If you have not yet installed this evil update and wish to retain custom theming, beware 933928.

I updated http://anti-tgtsoft.com/?p=13 to shift blame from Microsoft to theme authors. My initial knee jerk reaction was wrong, sorry.

Installed this update and then could not access contacts in Windows Mail. Deleted KB933928 and contacts again works O.K. Update is another wonderful thing from MS!

I have Aero Max Glass with Blue Status bars installed…kinda…I reran my Vista update CD, then removed the original Aero msstyle file and replaced it with Max Glass’s msstyle file, then ran Windows Update…

result: Max Glass with blue status bars is installed as a vistual style…but I cannot update or install anything into the theme folder after the update…I noticed that the folder’s permissions were reset, so I took ownership of the folder and still…no luck.

this update caused my window mail contacts to fail, with error
    “unable to choose recipients”.
To resolve this issue uninstall KB933928 .

This update also gave me the unable to choose recipients error. Any fix?

So far the only option seems to be uninstalling the update. With Windows Mail soon being replaced by Windows Live Mail, I wouldn’t be surprised if this one isn’t fixed…
