The Multimedia Class Scheduler service (MMCSS) is similar to Quality of Service (QOS) for networking; it provides multimedia applications with priority for more CPU time if it is needed while still allowing lower-priority applications to get the resources they need. Though the description says if the service is stopped the prioritization simply goes to the default, the Windows Audio service depends on it, so stopping it will kill the audio on your computer. If you have no need for sound, go ahead and disable this service, but if you play music, movies, etc you’ll want to leave it alone.
