Adding to the evidence that Windows Vista SP1 is on the way is a note on a Windows Installer page. It states:
Windows Installer 4.1 updates Windows Installer 4.0 without adding any new features and is available in Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008.
Looks like they simply bumped the number and added compatibility. The Build date is listed as 6/1/2007. Is that the build date for the software, meaning it’s finished for inclusion? Or is that the date the page was updated with this information?

Except that further down on the page for “Released Versions for Windows Installer” is this:
Windows Installer 4.0 4.0.6000.16386 Released with Windows Vista.
Windows Installer 4.0 4.0.6001.xxxxx Released with Windows Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008.
…where it’s not really 4.1, just 4.0 with a patch (just like the patched 3.1 versions above it).
