You may receive invalid values when you query the ifOperStatus object identifier on a Windows Vista-based computer
When you query the ifOperStatus object identifier (also known as OID) on a Windows Vista-based computer, you experience the following problems:
- If the interface state is “up,” the query returns 5 for the value of the ifOperStatus object identifier.
- If the interface state is “down,” the query returns 0 for the value of the ifOperStatus object identifier.
For example, you receive the following query result:
Variable = interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.1 Value = Integer32 5 Variable = interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.2 Value = Integer32 5 Variable = interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.3 Value = Integer32 5
