ITsVISTA Tip 56: Display your ‘Home’ icon on your desktop in Vista

TipsLike yesterday’s tip, this one is from the How-To Geek. If you access your Home directory a lot, or the folders within it, it might save you some time to have a shortcut to it on your desktop. Just like doing this with your Computer icon, it’s easy to setup.

  1. Click on your Start menu.
    Start
  2. Right-click on your ‘Home’ folder, which would be a the top of the Start menu’s right column, and is named with your logon name.
    Home
  3. Choose Show on Desktop from the menu that pops up.
    Show on Desktop
  4. Enjoy having your Home icon on your desktop!
