Ouch. The creators discuss the proof-of-concept rootkit they created called VBootkit that can access Vista’s kernel.

Past versions of Windows allowed you to ‘downgrade’ with the same serial number. Vista does not, if you want to downgrade, you have to try to purchase the older OS, which is becoming harder to find by the day.
