If you’re running any Roxio products, there’s a good chance you’re having problems. Due to a ‘clerical error’, products that are compatible with Vista are being seen as incompatible. Lucky for you, there is a fix.
When you start up Vista, you probably get this message:
Program Compatibility Assistant
This Driver is blocked due to compatibility issues
Check online to see if solutions are available from the Microsoft website. If solutions are found, Windows will automatically display a website that lists steps you can take.

You are correct. It was pointed out to me recently (itsvista.com/2007/04/vista-sp1-to-be-or-not-to-be/#comments) and though I think I understand when to use each, I’ve got to get it ingrained in my head now. I’ve updated the post, I’ll have to see if there’s a plugin that can help prompt me or something until I get it re-learned.
