An Apple iPod may be corrupted when you eject it by using the “Safely Remove Hardware” feature or by using Windows Explorer in Windows Vista

When you eject an Apple iPod that uses a USB connection on a computer that is running Windows Vista, the iPod may be corrupted.

This problem may occur when you eject the iPod by using the “Safely Remove Hardware” feature in the notification area. This problem may also occur when you eject the iPod by using Windows Explorer.

There is a download that resolves this issue. See Hotfixes for details. This issue is resolved in SP1.
