Touch input stops working when two users are logged on at the same time in Windows Vista

When two users are logged on at the same time to a Tablet PC that is running Windows Vista, touch input may stop working. This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:

  • One user has a standard user account.
  • The other user has an administrator user account.
  • Both users use the Fast User Switching feature to switch users without logging off.

When the second user uses the Fast User Switching feature, the Welcome screen appears, and touch input stops working.

There is a download that resolves this issue. See Hotfixes for details. This issue is resolved in SP1.
