Windows Image Acquisition imaging software may stop responding in Windows Vista

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) imaging software may stop responding (hang) in Windows Vista. For example, when you try to use an image scanner, the scanner software may stop responding.

There is a download that resolves this issue. See Hotfixes for details.
