You may not find the file that you want when you use Advanced Search to search by date and you use a non-Gregorian calendar format in Windows Vista
If you use a non-Gregorian calendar format in Windows Vista, you may not find the file that you want when you use Advanced Search to search by date.
For example, this problem occurs if Japanese (Japan) is selected in the Current format list, and if either of the following conditions is true:
- The WAREKI format is selected in the Calendar type list on the Date tab of the Customize Regional Options dialog box.
- The SEIREKI format is selected in the Calendar type list, and a “ddd” option is selected in the Date formats list on the Date tab of the Customize Regional Options dialog box.
For example, the problem may occur if the date format uses any of the following format options:
- yy/MM/dd’ (’ddd’)’
- yy/M/d’ (’ddd’)’
- yyyy/MM/d’ (’ddd’)’
For another example, if Arabic (Saudi Arabia) is selected in the Current format list, the results of a search by date may be offset by one or more days.
Note: The Current format list appears on the Formats tab of the Regional and Language Options dialog box.
