Error message when you log on to Windows Vista after you upgrade from Windows XP: “FolderShare could not monitor the folder ‘C:\Documents and Settings\
When you log on to Windows Vista after you upgrade the computer from Microsoft Windows XP, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
FolderShare could not monitor the folder ‘C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents’ for changes. Please check that you have permission to access it.
You experience this problem if the following conditions are true:
- FolderShare is installed on the Windows XP-based computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista
- FolderShare was configured to synchronize the My Documents folder, or another folder that is in the %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents folder in Windows XP.
