When you log on to Windows Vista after you upgrade the computer from Microsoft Windows XP, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

FolderShare could not monitor the folder ‘C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents’ for changes. Please check that you have permission to access it.

You experience this problem if the following conditions are true:

  • FolderShare was configured to synchronize the My Documents folder, or another folder that is in the %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents folder in Windows XP.
