  A very interesting read from someone that worked on the Vista Shutdown Menu, and doesn’t sound to pleased about the process.

My first tip was how to change the behavior of the power button. The default is to Sleep, but I prefer to actually Shut Down. It’s only seven tips later, and I’ve already got a different way to do this, mostly because it’s a few steps quicker. (more…)

I saw a short post about freeware program called System Information Viewer (SIV) and thought I’d see what it was all about. SIV is available through their website http://siv.mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/ and is a relatively small download, at just under 1MB. Unzipped it’s a bit over 2MB. It supports all versions of Windows starting with ’95. There’s no installer, just double-click and run. (more…)
